Topic: Blogging Module

Curious if this is a potential feature down the road to provide a more complete alternative to WordPress.  I hate dealing with WP, which is why I sought you guys out, and the loss of blogging is the only downer other than a few minor technical issues.  Something simple in the fashion of Tumblr, perhaps.

Re: Blogging Module

Matthew, we would love to offer something like that and it may well happen down the line. I hate the clunkiness of WP too.

Right now, though, we need to focus on our core offering of providing a simple content management system - and without wanting to sound too anal, blogging is more of a content creation system.

I think Pagelime (pagelime.com) offer something like this, but for now it's not something we have planned for any time in the near future.

Re: Blogging Module

Well, I challenge the idea that a CMS is not used for content creation.  If you can add content through it, then it's not all that different from a blog.  Not a fan of PageLime, I like you guys, so hopefully this is something you'll add down the road.  WordPress is pretty much considered a CMS now days, so makes sense that blogging capability would be included in most systems at this point.  To have to add WP just for a blog in addition to a CMS doesn't make sense, might as well just use WP for all.  But, again, it's bloated and not the most user-friendly for novice website owners.  I don't know, just some thoughts.  You guys are the experts.  I only design websites to pay bills.  Proxy career.  Ugh.  Your service makes my life a lot easier though, so thank you.

You know what, that would look really good as a tweet ;)

Really though, thanks for the kind words - it means that we're not wasting our time every day when we know that you guys are liking what we do.

Re: Blogging Module

SimpleCMS is outstanding, keep up the great work and never think that your wasting your time! I don't know what I would do without SimpleCMS!

Re: Blogging Module

I know this is a complicated feature, however this addition would really set simplecms apart from its competitors. Pagelime promised this functionality months and months ago, however they have gone silent. If this were even a feature that we had to put up 15 bucks a month to gain the privilege of using, I would be on board. My clients are just really hounding me for a deeper ability to create content within their website.
