Topic: £ changes into

Hi There,

When uploading a website via FTP to http://alex1.seo4webs.co.uk/ which has simple CMS loaded on it, all £ gets converted to , when uploading the same files to http://www.previewmywebsite.co.uk/fife/ there is no issue.

Any idea why this is happening?

Re: £ changes into

Try one of these:

£

or

£

;)

Re: £ changes into

Hi Cliff, that's happening because SimpleCMS uses UTF-8 encoding and your pages are ISO-8859-1

Richy's suggestions will resolve this. Thanks for the help Richy.

Alternatively you can give your pages UTF-8 encoding. See this topic for more information

Re: £ changes into

Hi There,

I see thanks for that, i'm now futher puzzled as I have uploaded the exact same files to this domain http://www.previewmywebsite.co.uk/ and there has not been a replication of the issue.

Any ideas as to why this is :)?

Thanks for all your help so far.

Re: £ changes into

Hi Cliff, I'm not sure why the problem hasn't replicated on the other site. Is it hosted on a different server? That might output it differently. It's working correctly though, right?

Re: £ changes into

Hi there, it was one of those late nights, I was running the website on a linux server instead of windows, thus causing the issue. I however find I have another issue now, I recently saved changes to the page - http://alex5.seo4webs.co.uk/instructor_cars.htm however for some reason now when trying to load this page up in the CMS the page is completely blank.

Do you have any idea as to how to fix this?

Re: £ changes into

Hi Cliff, the error has been corrected and that page loads in the system now. Sorry for the inconvenience.
