Topic: Allowed FTP IP addresses required or not?

I am trying to set up a demo site using our FTP info however I am getting this error:

We are unable to connect to the FTP server, please check that the details you gave us are correct.

If you keep seeing this message, you could check your details using your FTP software.

You may also need to add our dedicated IPs to your allowed FTP list:
208.109.198.3
208.109.198.189

Are we required to add IP addresses of your server(s) to our allowed FTP IP addresses in order to upload content to our ftp server? The error say "You may also need..." so it doesn't sound like a requirement. Are their other options?

Hi Mark, I've checked your account and everything is setup correctly and working.

You only need to add our IPs to your allowed list if your FTP server is restricting access by IP.
